Recently, I moved from a knee-cage brace to a long-leg brace with footplate. This required a move-up in shoe size to accommodate the footplate. Hence, I needed shoes that would "fit" over the footplate and still allow me to get the shoe on with the stiff ankle. A couple dozen pairs/brands were tried. These were the FIRST pair that actually worked. I've since found a few (very few) styles/brands that allow me to jam all that hardware inside them without breaking a sweat, but these still are the easiest. I sure hope Drew keeps making these. A pair in brown would be nice, too. These shoes are perfect for my father-in-law. He has diabetes and so his feet sometimes swell. The adjustability for both sides of the show is easy to do and you can make it tighter or looser. Because it is Velcro they need to be tied or untied, making it more simple. The quality is excellent.Very convenient. Easy to adjust o=for swelling. Will buy again when needed.Looks:The upper part of the shoe is bulky and odd looking.Walking:This shoe doesn't even match the minimum requirement a shoe should be built to. Your ankles have no freedom to move without tugging at the velcro, The whole top latch - Yeah- That's velcro, and every step you take tears at it.The heel is also easy to fall out of.Frankly, it's surprising that a shoe like this is for sale at all.
