I just bought this 2nd pair of Brooks Anthem 2 (in a different color) as they are a wonderful walking shoe for me. I looked around for a first pair quite a bit and then found the Anthem 2. They’re great. Very supportive, quite comfortable and lightweight. They don’t have a super cushiony bottom, but it’s cushy enough for my preference. I have a small foot with a rather high arch. I normally wear a 6 or 6 1/2 size, and I wear a 61/2 in this brand and could almost wear a 7. I do have to tie the 6 1/2 a little loose, but the length of the 6 1/2 is good for me.To highlight for those not familiar with Brooks Anthem, they are different than other Anthems. I tried the Anthem 4, and it was not comfortable for me.The shoes come exactly as pictured. They are very comfortable and I have really enjoyed wearing them to work. My only issue is that the bottoms of the shoes have deep crevices from toe to heel so they carry dirt and mud like no other. I have also gotten rocks stuck in the bottoms multiple times which is very annoying. It's a weird thing to complain about but I feel like I am constantly checking my shoes before I walk inside mine or anyone else's house so I don't leave a mess. I've never had that problem before. I don't want to complain too much because the price was great which balances out for me. They are still great shoes for exercising or walking long distances. My feet feel so good when I wear them.I already have a pair of Anthem 1....fit perfectly.....comfortable. This pair Anthem 2 tends to run a tad smaller, but still the same comfort fit.Good quality and great arch support. The tread has lasted pretty well so far in the few months I've had them (which is saying something, because I can wear shoes out pretty quickly!), but even from brand new they didn't have great grip on wet roads or sidewalks, despite being designed for road running. Still good shoes overall, just be careful when things are wet.I have a few other pair of Brooks but I fell in love with these because of the majority of the color being grey (I am a sucker for all things grey!!!) Brooks are amazing running/workout shoes. I wear them everytime I go for a walk/run or to the gym!I'm on my feet a lot and these are the best shoes. They aren’t as cushioned as other Brooks shoes I’ve owned, thus the four-star rating.It did not get 5 stars only due to I had to add inserts because my arch is high. But other than that I love this shoe and wear them everyday.
