This is my second pair of Drew Athena shoes. I bought my first pair at my podiatrist’s office two years ago and have been very pleased with the comfort and durability. I was notable to purchase this style in black in my size, so I purchased a white pair. I’m very satisfied.I wear mostly Drew shoes because they work best with my full orthotics. I have a bit of a problem with Athena because they barely tie over my high arches, which doesn't look as nice as could be. I'll probably have to get longer laces. This was not a problem with the Flash II sneakers. I found out too late that Flash II is available again. So I'll make do with these for now, as they are not at all uncomfortable. Next time, back to the old favorite.I suffer with plantar fasciitis and was given orthotics to where I found that most shoes would not fit comfortably. I've purchased these looking for a shoe that would not look totally old lady but also allow me to utilize my orthotics These did the job these did the job perfectly. They're not the cutest looking shoe but its part of my uniform so no one is looking that hard.The shoe appeared to be of good quality and well made; however, they do run on the small side. I take an 8 W because I want and need all around toe space. I walk every day 3-5 miles and my toes tend to expand as I walk so I want to be comfortable. These shoes needed a little more room all around, like a 1/4 of a size. I knew that the 8 1/2 would have been too large so I did not bother. Very disappointed and returned them.This show is sooo ridged and very difficult to tie. Very uncomfortableShoes are heavy and bulky and do not help my foot problem. I had to wear them a week thinking my feet would eventually get used to them. Unfortunately, they did not. Since I can't return them, I will give them away and buy another brand.This is my second pair of this exact shoe. I wore the last pair nearly everyday to work as a high school teacher. These shoes provide the support and comfort I need from being on my feet most of the day. The size feels slightly wide, but my feet swell as the day progresses and that works out better for me. I wear a 10W.Everything was exceptional from the low price to the fine workmanship and speedy arrival.
